Among 232 applicants from 35 countries and 1 region, 64 contestants from 22 countries and 1 region who passed the Preliminary Screening which was held on August 11th-14th
will participate in the competition (March 26th-April 5th, 2009).

Notice of change to Article20,Section1
Due to recent high surcharges on fuel etc., and limited to the 7th Kobe International Flute Competition only, we are offering increased travel subsidies for overseas competitors as follows:
Competitors from Asian countries: 40,000 yen (originally 30,000 yen plus an additional 10,000yen).
Competitors from non-Asian countries: 80,000 yen (originally 50,000 yen plus an additional 30,000 yen).
