Mozart’s opera reborn as a Butoh performance
An audacious reimagining that begins with the majestic choral finale of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” reversing the original structure of the opera. Butoh artist Akira Kasai teams up with dancers Tomohiko Tsujimoto, Mirai Moriyama, Nagomi Ino, Yasutake Shimaji, and Shintaro Oue to explore a new form of Butoh unique to Japan.
