Dynamic and exhilarating Bach from the leading ensemble of Baroque music!
Founded in 1963 by conductor Takeharu Nobuhara, the Telemann Chamber Orchestra has been a leading force in Baroque music performance not only in the Kansai region, but across Japan, for over 60 years.The ensemble has received numerous accolades, including the Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Festival Excellence Award and the Suntory Music Award. It has also been invited to perform at the prestigious Bachfest Leipzig. Nobuhara, a long-time Kobe resident, also received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2008. A legendary figure in the music world, he has made lasting contributions over the decades. For this festival, the orchestra will present a full performance of Bach’s beloved Brandenburg Concertos, where flutes and other instruments take center stage in bold, virtuosic interplay—performed on modern instruments.
